A military dog who lost a leg when sniffing out a roadside bomb has been awarded the animal equivalent of the Victoria Cross after serving in more than 400 missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. Lucca, a 12-year-old German shepherd, served in the US Marine Corps for six years, protecting the lives of troops by sniffing out munitions.

Fact: Here in the UK if someone injures/hurts a police serving animal then the person will be charged with assault etc of an officer.

[What was] the world's smallest police station, built in 1926, used by the Metropolitan Police to keep a watchful eye on Trafalgar Square - but no longer - it is now used by the council's street cleaners to store brooms. The lamp on top is believed to have come from the HMS Victory, best-known as Lord Nelson's flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.
