Pilgrim badge Pilgrim badge of the Virgin Mary, possibly from the shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham in Norfolk. This badge is in the form of a fleur-de-lys surrounded by a circular frame. The fleur-de-lys was one of the symbols of the Virgin Mary. The edge of the frame is decorated with ball crockets. Crockets on frames are common on Walsingham badges of the mid-15th century so this badge may be a Walsingham pilgrim souvenir. Production Date: Late Medieval; 15th century
