Black and White Photomontages This image suggests that deep inside the body there is something hidden that could be famous and well known for e.g. Taj Mahal (7 wonders) or how there is a strong emotion buried down deep e.g. Taj Mahal was made in love. This links to my theme of people, emotions and actions based on those emotions.
Raoul Hausmann. The Art Critic 1919-20. Hausmann, a founder member of the Berlin Dada group, developed photomontage as a tool of satire and political protest. The fragment of a German banknote behind the critic’s neck suggests that he is controlled by capitalist forces. The words in the background are part of a poem poster made by Hausmann to be pasted on the walls of Berlin.
I think that the contrast between the photography and its realism compared to the very freestyled drawn body parts is very effective. I think that I would like to try this technique out by contrasting several techniques and creating a mixed media piece.
