To this day the fate of the Dutch freighter SS Ourang Medan and her crew remains a bizarre mystery.

The Death Ship - The Ourang Medan sent out a chilling SOS. Those answering found a ship full of corpses with terrified expressions frozen on their faces. Before the ship could be towed to port, it exploded and with it went answers to what might have happened. A great number of theories abound including alien abduction to more conventional possibilities such as methane bubbles. No one really knows for certain, which makes it one of the greatest maritime mysteries ever.

A strange incident occurred in June 1947. SS Ourang Medan sent a chilling message that all the workers are lying dead in chartroom and bridge. The Silver Star was the nearest ship. The staff who went inside the ship found everybody dead with open eyes and expressions of horror. There were no wounds or any other sign. At that time smoke started arising from the downside of the ship. The staff returned immediately to their own ship as the Ourang Medan caught fire. This case remains unsolved.

Probable HOAX: SS Ourang Medan sent distress messages, all on board were dead, unsolved. TRUTH: There isn't even any record this ship ever existed. And no one from the ship that supposedly came to the rescue ever stepped forward to confirm the story.

Ourang Medan ???!!!!!

Ourang Medan ???!!!!!

several ships passing near Malaysia received some strange SOS messages. Two American ships received the signals from a Dutch vessel called SS Ourang Medan. The message said, "All the officers, including the captain, are dead... I’m dying." When they went to the rescue, they found every member of the crew lying dead, as if they were frozen, with expressions of sheer terror on their faces and outstretched arms defending themselves from whatever they saw. They found no injuries on the bodies.

Was the S.S. Ourang Medan a genuine ill-fated ship or just a mariner's seafaring tale designed to scare, frighten or dissuade?

Ourang Medan a genuine ill-fated ship or just a mariner& seafaring tale designed to scare, frighten or dissuade?

No survivors were found on board the Ourang Medan in June, 1947, but what was most disturbing was the nature of the bodies, all frozen in place looking up towards the sun, their arms outstretched, mouths gaping, and a look of immense horror on all their faces. A trip to the communications room revealed the author of the SOS messages, also dead, his hand still on the Morse sending key, eyes wide open and teeth bared. Strangely, there was no sign of wounds or injuries on any of the bodies.

In June, frantic Morse Code messages were received from the Dutch freighter Ourang Medan. The message was received by many ships and several responded. The message reported ‘All officers including captain are dead lying in chartroom and bridge.
