Date of Coverage: 24 February-14 Chemistry Without Women - “It happened again – another major theoretical chemistry conference features an all-male program.” That’s the opening to a new petition calling for the boycott of the 2015 International Congress of Quantum Chemistry conference in Beijing. NORMAN, Okla. -- The Big 12 Conference has announced its men's basketball schedule for ESPN's Big Monday platform for the 2013 season, and for the first time in three years Oklahoma will make an appearance. The Sooners' Jan. 21 home contest versus Texas will be televised by ESPN as the second game of a Martin Luther King Jr. Day doubleheader. The 8:30 p.m. CT OU-Texas game will be preceded by a 4:30 p.m. matchup between Oklahoma State and Baylor.
While Bob Stoops tends to downplay the significance of this football game, it does have one of the biggest circles around it on the OU schedule. Barry Switzer openly admits that beating Texas is one of the keys to keeping your job as OU’s football Coach plus a win in the Cotton Bowl has a major influence on just how your recruiting season will go. And frankly, for a Sooner fan, very little brings more joy than going to the Texas State Fair and returning with a win.
