Moonrise Kingdom | I love the way Wes Anderson directs scenes into these still version of a modern fairy tale. I think his movies have a dream-like and somewhat absurd feel to them, which I enjoy. But I know it’s not everyone’s piece of cake (my sister turned off the movie after 2 minutes). Expect a collection of boy scouts, a juvenile love story, running away from home and the occasional dark sense of humour. The apathy, weirdness and the awkwardness make this into a warm and hilarious…
Robert Duvall in "Lonesome Dove" .... "When I finished Lonesome Dove, I said to myself, Now I can retire. I've done something. Let the English play Hamlet. I'll play Augustus McCrae." America needs a few hundred Augustus McCrae heroes to run for US Congress! Where are the men of yore?
DIY window film with Ikea Rivta curtains Great tip - spray starch the living hell out of the fabric when you iron it and then cut it roughly to the shape you’ll need. Then press the rough-cut fabric into the window pane and run your fingernail against the mullion to crease the fabric on each edge — the crease will be sharp enough to use as a cutting guide. I cut my pieces a few mm big on all sides
Movie 1: The Revenant (2015). My rating: 3.5/5. Stunning scenery, fantastic directing, believable and unique characters, great acting, and yet the whole thing is incredibly unpleasant. That was one of the goals, I guess! I didn't feel that it was the plot that redeemed it, but the way that the beauty and power of nature was captured.
