Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro - Charlotte only began doing Grand Prix dressage in 2011 but by the 2012 Olympics she won not only the first individual Dressage Gold medal winner for BG, but GB's Team won Gold as well for Queen and country!

#greatwalker London 2012, Olympic individual dressage competition. I wangled a shift at Greenwich Park that day and I managed to watch the end of it. Total immersion in Team GB fever and pure joy when the crowd saw Charlotte's score on the board. I have never in my life waved a flag so vigorously.

Defending champions Great Britain won silver in the Olympic team dressage, as world champions Germany claimed gold. The British quartet - Spencer Wilton, Fiona Bigwood, Carl Hester and Charlotte Dujardin - were beaten into second by 3.334 points. Germany's Sonke Rothenberger, Dorothee Schneider, Kristina Broring-Sprehe and Isabell Werth scored 81.936 points, with Britain on 78.602. The United States won bronze
