The Do's and Don'ts of No Contact

Many survivors of abuse chose to "go no contact" with their abuser. It is a state in which we deny the abuser direct access to us. We are often accused of selfishness (especially those who cut contact with their parents or siblings), but no contact is not about the abuser.

No thank you I want yo get there again. I am crawling forward .... yet again. Slowly but surely. I am afraid, and yet I want to be free once again.... Slowly but surely....

No contact. I cried at first, because I felt empty. Then I realized that what was missing was the stress and fear I had grown accustomed to. I filled the void with my own self worth until I felt safe again.
