love the idea of reusing brown paper grocery bags to create fake animal skin for a Native American lesson - I would use this to engage the students in the lesson and have them integrate/draw things that the Native Americans would draw -CC
On special request, this Native American Unit Study is for the more advance readers or approximately grades I hope you and your child.
Native American Unit - Native Americans and Regions - Native American Projects
This unit motivates students to want to learn about the Native Americans of North America (Eastern Woodlands, Great Plains, Southwest, Northwest Coast, Southeast). There are 63 pages of lesson plans and printables.
Students can learn how Native Americans used to use pictographs to communicate. Students can create their own story using pictographs. This activity could be considered both a Social Studies and Language Arts activity.
Subtheme: Differences in home structures of aboriginal people in BC; comparing these with other aboriginal people across Canada Pipe Cleaner Wigwam -- this will be great once we get into our Native American portion of history
