Brand identity and packaging design for Hawkins and Brimble. The brief was to design a mens grooming brand from the ground up. For the Hawkins & Brimble branding we developed a bespoke typography style based on beautiful vintage barber signage and branded stamps to give a sense of heritage and efficacy. A vibrant flash of red cutting through the pack, indicative of traditional barber poles yet angular and tightly cropped, created a classic and fresh look.
One of the parts of Canada I always wanted to visit was Vancouver Island and I managed to achieve this during my road trip around British Columbia but unfortunately I had only two days (one night stay) there so I had to plan the trip out carefully but thankfully for a local I know, I was taken to the top places to visit near the island’s largest city, Victoria, named after the British monarch from the 19th century. Here is what I managed to see and do on the island which I highly recommend.
The Balfron Tower / Pic: Simon Terrill. The brutalist tower designed by Erno Goldfinger has been used for a series of different artistic endeavors lately, including an overnight production of Macbeth. Go at sunset for unusual views over south east London.
Humphrey Bogart - by George Hurrell - Hurrell developed the classic movie star headshot from the the 20's through the 40's. After the war his classic style somewhat lost favor but he had a renascence in the mid-60's. Just before his death in the 90's he was back to photographing movie stars of the day. You may not know the name but his style is burned into your photographic subconscious.
