Legendary Emmy winning actress Doris Roberts has passed away at the age of 90 years old. Roberts, who famously played the mother in Everybody Loves Raymond, died in her sleep of natural causes at home in Los Angeles on Sunday. During her 64-year career, she was awarded five Emmys - four for Raymond, one for the TV hit St Elsewhere in 1982. She is survived by her son Michael Cannata Jr and three grandchildren. Film director Todorovsky died in Moscow Friday. A World War II veteran, began his career as a director of photography filming several classic Soviet films. Later Todorovsky and wife Mira would produce/director several award winning Russian films including: Lyubimaya Zhenshchina Mekhanika Gavrilova (The Mechanic Gavrilov's Beloved Woman) Voyenno-Polevoy Roman (Wartime Romance), shortlisted for the best foreign language film Oscar in 1985 Interdevochka (Intergirl) Riorita. He was 87.
Farewell to Actor, Dennis Farina. After 18 years as a Chicago policeman, a chance meeting with film director Michael Mann led him to acting. Farina’s acting career spanned 3 decades. His charisma & comedic cynical style made him a natural for crime dramas. He attributed his success to his experience as an cop. “I got to meet all kinds of people in that job, I’d see maybe 10-20 personalities a day, so I learned how to read people & handle them.” He was 69.
