Knights Templar: Around 1119 CE, King Baldwin II of Jerusalem agreed to grant the request to form a monastic order for the protection of the pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land in Jerusalem. This request of this new order came from a French knight, Hugues de Payens, and his relative Godfrey de Saint-Omer. The Order took the name of the Poor Knights of Christ and the Temple of Solomon, or "#Templar" #knights.
According to legend, the Round Table which hangs in the Great Hall of Winchester Castle is the table around which King Arthur and his Knights met, and it has been famous for centuries for its associations with the legendary 'Once and Future King'. Although we now know that it originated many centuries later, the table’s mystique still remains. It was probably created in about 1290.
