Matthew 22:34-40  Moving Forward  The Pharisees gathered together, and one of them asked, “Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?” Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”

February has long been celebrated as the month of love highlighted by Valentine’s Day on the 14th.  Valentine’s Day is a great opportunity to learn what the Bible teaches us about genuine love – the self-sacrificing, grace-extending attitude that God wants to see embodied in ALL of our relationships, not just our romantic ones.  Take a look at the treasure trove of scriptures in God’s Word about love: 1 Corinthians 13; 1 John 4:16-18; Romans 12:9-13, Matthew 22:34-40 and 1 John 3:10-17.
