I'm always looking for ways to take the class outside to learn. We could explore shapes (sides, vertices, etc.) by creating them with sticks. Eg. Students are given a certain number of sticks and have to make as many triangles, squares, etc. as they can.

A Roald Dahl maths relay game - put pupils into groups and get them running back and forth to you, hopefully with the correct answers.
