Marvin Gaye, native of Lexington, Ky, was one of the top artists of the twentieth century and highly influential in the music industry. After years of battling substance abuse, Gaye moved in with is parents to work on some personal and business issues. During a severe altercation, Marvin Gaye was killed by his father on April 1, 1984, at his home in Lexington, KY.
