Marlon Brando, Jr. (April 3, 1924 – July 1, 2004) was an American screen and stage actor. Considered to be one of the most important actors in American cinema. Brando was a mimic from early childhood and developed an ability to absorb the mannerisms of people he played and display them dramatically while staying in character. "There's a line in the picture where he snarls, 'Nobody tells me what to do.' That's exactly how I've felt all my life."

While shooting Mutiny on the Bounty Brando met and married Tahitian beauty Tarita Teriipia, who by coincidence had played his love interest in the film. Tarita was some 18 years younger than Brando, and she was only 20 when she and Marlon Brando were married. Tarita was Brando’s third wife, and gave birth to two children, Simon and Cheyenne.
