1897 map of central London - Shoreditch and Bank. One of the best SS projects my students and I did was to create imaginary towns. The students and I negotiated a rubric after studying our textbook, they set to work, and we all enjoyed their efforts!
This Alternative London Underground Map Shows You What To See At Every Tube Stop In Central London
THIS ALTERNATIVE LONDON UNDERGROUND MAP SHOWS YOU WHAT TO SEE AT EVERY TUBE STOP IN CENTRAL LONDON London is a pretty epic place, though its probably expected that I’d say that seeing as it’s my home but its the actual truth. Our wonderful city is buzzing with so many amazing sights to explore which are particularly easy to get to, especially with hundreds of tube stops that are dotted across London town.
Excerpt of a wonderful map drawn by artist & illustrator Jenni Sparks. It’s a hand-drawn map of central and inner-city London. Tube/train lines, parks and rivers are coloured, everything else is shown in black-and-white. Buildings are all drawn in a 45-degree isometric style. Annotations reveal characteristics of an area that won’t appear on traditional maps. Dalston comes with a bicycle, plastic-framed glasses and a moustache. Canary Wharf is festooned with various currency symbols.
