Manuel / Fawlty towers www.workshoptheatre.org An Evening at Fawlty Towers September 20 - 28, 2013 at the Pumphouse Theatres, Calgary

RIP Andrew Sachs as Manuel in Fawlty Towers, simply one of the funniest TV shows ever made.

Fawlty Towers The series is set in Fawlty Towers, a fictional hotel in the seaside town of Torquay. The plots centre around tense, rude and put-upon owner Basil Fawlty (Cleese), his bossy wife Sybil (Prunella Scales), a comparatively normal chambermaid Polly (Booth), and hapless Spanish waiter Manuel (Andrew Sachs) and their attempts to run the hotel amidst farcical situations and an array of demanding and eccentric guests.

John Cleese on Manuel - Fawlty Towers - BBC

John Cleese reminisces on the character of Manuel, taking his reference from waiters working in London at the time. A cheap employer who doesn't speak Englis.
