Art Journaling Techniques for Creative Art Journaling - This art journaling series (Part 2) is all about art techniques and tutorials to get you started in your creative art journal. I will look at using distress inks with make up sponges, adding salt to create effects in watercolour, adding talc to thicken acrylic paint and how to make your own spray inks/paint. Kerrymay._.Makes
Sensory Steps. Just glue plastic, wash clothes, make-up sponges, fur fabric, squishy wash netting, etc to cardboard. When it dries, cut around edges. Glue shelf liner on the other side. And you are done. Enjoy hours of activities!
This is a subtle cake: the coffee tempers the sweetness, and the buttery sweetness keeps it all mellow. Even if you don't make cakes, this one is a cinch. Don't be alarmed if the two sponge layers look thin when you unmold them. They are meant to be, because the cake gains a lot of height with its frosting. This cake is all about old-fashioned, homespun charm, so don't worry about how messy it looks: however the frosting goes on is fine. (Photo: Craig Lee for NYT)
This is great for mark making and lovely outdoor play on a hot day! So simple, no clean up! Fill up a trug with water, add mops, brushes, brooms, sponges, spray bottles. Sit back while your children play. Dipping their tools in and making marks all over the garden/pavement/shed. :)
