Lucas Samaras / Photo-Transformation / 1973 / Polaroid SX-70 //// Samaras turned to Polaroids largely because one could manipulate the surface of the photograph cheaply, easily and without the aid of the darkroom. Samaras learnt to manage the dyes of the Polaroid photos before they dried and set. He used this as a further tool of creative expression, it was another opportunity to experiment artistically.
