In 1451, the last king of the Sayyid dynasty, Bahlul Lodi founded the Lodi dynasty. It ended in 1526. It was the last of the five dynasties in the Delhi Sultanate. Unlike the other four dynasties, which were of Turkic origin; the Lodi dynasty was of Afghan origin. The Lodi dynasty was characterized by warfare mostly between the Afghans and Mongols empire. The end of the  dynasty came about through war; the Battle of Panipat.
