Promontory Point at Burnham Park in Hyde Park offers some of the greatest skyline views in Chicago. The small peninsula is a popular venue for weddings and for just escaping the hustle and bustle of downtown. Similar to the lily pond near the Lincoln Park Zoo, this public park space was designed by landscape architect Alfred Caldwell.
I thought this sculpture was really interesting, it not only has an interesting form but also has a function. The good thing about this image is that shows you the building and how it functions at different times of the day; during the day creating a shady area and at night having lights to illuminate the area so it may be used. Its form and function is in good use. Nature Boardwalk @ Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo, by Jeanne Gang
