Hummus is Arabic word for chickpeas. It's a delicious Middle-Eastern dip made from boiled Chickpeas, lemon juice, & Tahini sauce. Tahini is sesame paste. Hummus origins are believed to be from the Shami region (Lebanon/Syria/Palestine/Jordan).
[I was surprised to learn that Hummus is actually good!] This simple hummus without tahini takes 5 minutes to prepare, uses common ingredients, and is so much cheaper than the packaged stuff. [I don't like Tahini anyway.
