Part of the River Wall series by textile artist Hannah Lamb, the work inspired by walks along a local river. I was drawn to her use of a found piece of china to "patch" her work. She later also work on the visible mending and darning theme.
Using the beautiful new green leaves from the river bank and binding them inside silk Habotai, I crushed the bundle to release the wonderful vivid green stain. I am really pleased with the resulting fabric, which seems to capture the verdant shimmer of the woodland floor.
