Dickens's London: in pictures

Another Lambeth picture, this time of the Thames foreshore where many people found work as labourers or sailors, shortly before the building of the Albert Embankment in 1866-9. It is part of a collection of images by William Strudwick, which are among the only surviving mid 19th-century images of a London working class district.

The donkeys that work the brick kilns are way over worked.. There are many organizations such as the Donkey Sanctuary that are there to educate help these people their donkeys with medical care. We are trying to do what we can to educate the public everywhere.I see posts everyday ripping into foreign countries regarding the care of their donks. It happens here in the USA everyday also. Not a day goes by where TMR does not receive some kind of call out for a rescue. Have a great day.
