Henry Stuart, Lord Darnley 1546-1567 by Lady Finavon. Henry Stewart, Lord Darnley, was the first cousin and second husband of Mary, Queen of Scots and the father of her son, James VI of Scotland & I of England. He had a mean and violent streak and contemporary accounts describe him as vain, arrogant, self-centered and egotistical. His body was found in the gardens of Kirk o'Field, Edinburgh following an explosion.
Henry Stewart or Stuart, 1st Duke of Albany 1545 – 1567, styled Lord Darnley before 1565, was king consort of Scotland from 1565 until his murder at Kirk o' Field in 1567. He married Mary, Queen of Scots. They had a son James VI of Scotland and I of England.
