Kate Morton is a wonderfully evocative writer. Her novels feature strong female protagonists who explore the past in search of facts to clear up a mystery and thereby ease their own lives. I love the way she goes back and forth between the present and the past. This book, in particular, has a spectacular twist at the end. DO NOT SKIP AHEAD!
Every once in a while I’ll stumble upon a new-to-me author and feel immediately compelled to read everything they’ve ever written—preferably before the week is over. These 5 female authors write books that are compulsively readable and hugely enjoyable. Add them to your to-read list!
I just finished reading this (thanks sarah!) & can't stop drinking tea:-). Multi-generational mystery set in Australia & England. Fairly lengthy book that only took 3 days to read by a mother of a 2 year = very good book:-)
