Angela Simmons, designer and entrepreneur. She co-founded, designs for and runs the shoe brand, Pastry, with her sister Vanessa. She is the daughter of "Rev Run" Joseph Simmons (of Run-D.M.C. fame). She is also the editor for 'Angela's Rundown', a monthly magazine targeted for youths (ages 14 – 19), which covers teen topics, style, music, and fashion.
William Joseph Simmons - was a former preacher from Georgia who, in 1915, founded the second Ku Klux Klan after the collapse of the original Klan following the end of Reconstruction. He formed the Klan as a fraternal organization dedicated to defending American values. Unfortunately, his version of American “values” was odious. The new Klan added Catholics, Jews, and immigrants to its list of enemies.
Go Away With ... Rev Run: Back in the day, Joseph Simmons was best known to music fans as DJ Run, one of the founding members of Run-D.M.C. Now 49 and a practicing minister, Simmons is familiar to a new generation of fans as Rev Run, the television personality. My column with Rev Run is archived here as well: http://www.jaehakim.com/travel/go-away-with/go-away-with-rev-run/
