The Jonestown Massacre, Remembered

James Warren "Jim" Jones November 18, 1978 was the founder and the leader of the Peoples Temple, best known for the cult murder/suicide 909 of its members in Jonestown, Guyana, and the murder of five individuals at a nearby airstrip. Over 200 children were murdered at Jonestown, almost all of them by cyanide poisoning in grape koolaid. Jones died from a gunshot wound to the head.

THE TRUTH BEHIND THE JONESTOWN MASSACRE.... I was told that some of my family members from California died in Guyana. I have been intrigued ever since. I always thought it strange that NO ONE had the God given sense to say "eff you, I'm leaving" except the few that "escaped." I have some family that has always said that there was more to this story than what is being told.

"Jonestown, Guyana was the scene of one of the most harrowing tragedies in American history. On November 18, 1978, at the direction of charismatic cult leader Jim Jones, 909 members of the People’s Temple died, all but two from apparent cyanide poisoning, in a 'revolutionary suicide.'" #jonestown #massacre
