John Whitaker

Marius Silver Jubilee, known as 'Milton' (16 February 1977- 4 July 1999), was a grey gelding, 16.2 hands (66 inches; 168cm) high at the withers, shown here with his rider, John Whitaker MBE. Milton achieved many international victories, becoming the first horse outside the racing world to win more than £1 million in prize money. A favourite with the crowd, he often ended a successful round with a leap into the air. After his death, Milton was buried at the Whitaker's Yorkshire farm.
