Serve this tomato-based Italian salsa with Slow-Roasted Balsamic-Glazed Duck with Roasted Vegetables from chef April Bloomfield of The Spotted Pig and The John Dory Oyster Bar.

John Dory, St Pierre or Peter's Fish. It is an edible benthic coastal Marine Fish with a laterally compressed olive-yellow body which has a large dark spot, and long spines on the dorsal fin. The dark spot is used to flash an 'Evil Eye' if danger approaches. Its large eyes at the front of the head provide it with binocular vision and depth perception, which are important for predators.

We chose this restaurant, A Travessa, to celebrate my parents 72nd birthdays while in Lisbon and arn't we happy that we did!! The service was excellent and professional. Menu was in English and the nice bald headed maitre d helped us with selections and any questions we had. Table was already set with tapas which was very welcoming. Menu explained that the tapa plates were 7.50 each...not sure what would happen if you didn't eat them as I guess it was a given that we would! Best of the tapas…
