Hastings Traditional Jack-in-the-Green Festival. The Hastings Jack-in-the-Green festival was revived by Keith Leech in 1983 and is now one of the biggest annual gatherings of Morris Dancers in the country. The Jack is “released” every year and is central to the festival
British folk dancers, Morris men in Hastings, Sussex, UK on a May Bank Holiday. The earliest mention of Morris Men is in 1448 and records the payment of seven shillings to Morris Dancers by the Goldsmiths Company in London. (it's ok we all find it a bit weird too!)
