This poem (Carroll 71-72) is an allusion to the famous children's song, Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star, though it has been considerably altered to fit Wonderland. This switch in the song reflects how Wonderland twists anything it touches, even language. Also, it points to Carroll's message that language can be interpreted many ways depending on the person and their beliefs.
