Being Pure in Heart to See God and thus Gain God and be Transformed in Christ’s Image
To see God is to be transformed into the glorious image of Christ, the God-man, that we may express God in His life and represent Him in His authority. ExoCS (2), outline 12. Quoted at www.agodman.com.
He is the comforter when we are in trials where we can only endure through the power of God's love. However, the Holy Spirit also has the duty of cleansing us from our sinful ways. Sometimes, it's done to the degree where we are burning up as if being refined. Just as a welder uses extreme heat to mend and shape the sword to its intended design, so the holy spirit burns us up to help us be conformed to the image of Christ.
As the Divine Life Grows in us, the Law of Life Shapes us to the Image of Christ
While the divine life grows in us, the law of life functions to shape us, to conform us, to the image of Christ as the firstborn Son of God (Rom. 8:2, 29). The law of life does not primarily function in the negative sense of telling us what not to do; rather, while life grows, the law of life functions in the positive sense of shaping us, that is, conforming us, to the image of Christ.
