I think Hyenas are beautiful in a very dangerous, rugged kind of way.   They're also fascinating. Hyenas are led by their females (who are nearly twice as large as the males) and they travel in family packs (much like wolves).

Striped Hyena - though dog-like in appearance & some behaviour, hyena are not canids at all.  They are in the feliforma family & are related to civets & cats.  The striped hyena is probably the most attractive of the four species of hyena.
