Ghost In The Shell has section 9's cyborgs as mostly mechanical, it's pretty much their soul (or ghost) that is the only human element left. This is layered over with artificial flesh so they look human but this under layer of mechanical muscle structure does look intriguing... or I could do what they do and only show the mechanisms when their 'flesh' is damaged in battle
