Homelessness has increased by a fifth in the last four years. Policies like the bedroom tax and cuts to welfare benefits have not only exacerbated homelessness but have stretched local authority resources in their efforts to rehouse these people.
Everyday we walk or drive past homeless on the streets. This is an example of poverty and social stratification in our own country. Most homeless are in a constant cycle of poverty, and are not afforded the opportunity to progress by the elite class.
Our furbabies don't need us to have a lot of money, or nice things, or even a home-they care about love, unconditional love. And their loyal unconditional love will be with you no matter what you go through.
Why do we call them "homeless" people? People don't refer to me as a "house" person and we don't call people "condo" or "apartment" people. We focus so much I'm the "homeless" part that we forget the "people" part. Passing By the homeless without a care.
