Beadnell, Northumberland | It sees a handful of tourists in the summer months but during most of the year Beadnell’s beach is unadulterated emptiness. There are more people on the water - windsurfing, canoeing, and surfing - than there are among the dunes.
The Log House, Ambleside, was shipped over from Norway by the artist, Heaton Cooper Senior (Arthur) as his studio. First in Coniston, possibly near the Ruskin Museum, it was then moved to Ambleside. After he died it became a coffee shop. The conservatory is a later addition.
