A high court judge in Nigeria has ruled that some popular soft drinks sold under the Coca-Cola brand could be poisonous.
Nigeria’s High Court of the Federal Capital Territory on 5 April 2017 discharged a Federal High Court judge in Abuja, Judge Adeniyi Ademola, of all 18-count charges of fraud brought against him, his wife and a senior lawyer. The presiding judge, Justice Jude Okeke, said the prosecution failed to prove its allegation before the court with facts, hence the court would not rely on speculations. Mr. Okeke called on authorities to ensure proper investigation of matters before proceeding to court.
