Years ago, my therapist once told me to remember: "Depression is a selfish disease..." She's right, if you think about it. It doesn't matter that I struggle with it from time to time, but I always try to remember that. I'm not a selfish person, so when I find myself struggling with it, I try to redirect my focus to someone or something else to help THEM out.
