Heavy snow expected on mountains in Hawaii. A blizzard warning is in effect for the summits of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa on the Big Island of Hawaii. The National Weather Service says up to 8 inches of snow could accumulate above 11,500 feet. The weather service warns of strong winds, bitter cold, blowing and drifting snow, and lightning. President-elect Barack Obama wasn't going to let a little snow stop him from waiting for his wife outside his daughters' school in December. The future First Couple were attending a party for their girls' last day at school in Chicago, Ill. Despite being a Hawaii native, Obama braved the wintry weather, without a heavy coat nonetheless, like much of the nation.
