Gypsy Rose Lee (January1911 - April 1970) was an American burlesque entertainer legendary for her classy, witty striptease act. Her casual strip style as opposed to the herky-jerky styles of most burlesque strippers emphasized the "tease" in "striptease" and she brought a sharp sense of humor to her act as well.
