Fort Griswold Battlefield State Park. Groton, CT. Infamous Revolutionary War turncoat Benedict Arnold led a siege of Fort Griswold as part of the Battle Of Groton Heights, in which he set much of the towns of Groton and New London ablaze. The fort suffered massive casualties during the raid and was abandoned.
Ledge Lighthouse in New London is a unique lighthouse and an architectural landmark. A local foundation has leased the lighthouse from the Coast Guard and works for its restoration; plans are for the building to be renovated as a guest house and museum. Built in 1909 and still active.
