Griselda Blanco, 70, was known as La Madrina, the godmother—and for all the bad reasons. Blanco, who was gunned down in her hometown of Medellin, Colombia, will go down as one of the architects of the illegal drug industry.
Griselda Blanco (1943 - ?): Drug lord who ran Miami-based cocaine trade during the 1970s and early 1980s. She committed her first murder when she was 11. Authorities estimate Blanco killed or ordered the killings of between 40 and 200 people. She was arrested in 1985, and continued her cocaine business from jail. The case against her collapsed, and she was deported to Columbia in 2004. Blanco was last seen in Bogota Airport in 2007.
