Kokoshnik belonging to Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna, 1913, Tsarskoye Selo State Museum-Preserve. Commissioned to mark the 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty in 1913, the kokoshnik was hand-made by nuns of the Starotorzhsk convent of St Nicholas in Kostroma province. It is covered with peach velvet. The exterior, embroidered with silk and silver threads and decorated with mother-of-pearl and semi-precious stones, bears at the center an image of the double-headed imperial eagle.
