Four solid gold necklaces found in the floodplains of the Gelderland IJssel near Olst. The neck rings may be made of melted Late Roman gold coins, 'solidi'. The decorations on the jewelry are simple and a typical Germanic style. This jewelry may have belonged to prominent Germanic chieftains who had contact with the Roman Empire. It is possible they may have sacrificed their neck rings in the river to the gods, ca. 400 A.D.
