Sheriff: Granville woman falsely collects $13K in aid

A Granville woman was arrested Monday after allegedly receiving $13,481 in food stamp and HEAP benefits she was not entitled to, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office. Heather Nicholson, 34, was charged with felony grand larceny. An investigation by the county Department of Social Services and Sheriff's Office found Nicholson had falsely reported her household income and the number of people residing in the home while she collected welfare benefits, deputies said.
