Art Nouveau Combination Fireplace "The Valentine" is a reproduction of a Complete Cast Iron Fireplace in the Art Nouveau Style c 1900. It has a prominent canopy with typical Nouveau detail and the frieze has a large pomegranate detail extending down the legs. It also has a set of serpentine bars.
Craftsman style. Ravens (a popular motif) recall the lively birds in a fireplace grille by Voysey; also, the client was a South Dakota farmboy who had a pet raven as a child. The oak trees are all about California. Photo: Nathanael Bennett
