She's formed her own training company which designed some of the first non-sexist, multicultural toys and puzzles with accompanying curricula. Together with Margaret Sloan Hunter, she formed the nucleus of the National Black Feminist Organization.

New Wave Feminists, a pro-life feminist organization, was listed as a partner for the March. But, recently when the organizers of the march realized New Wave Feminists were pro-life, the organization told the women’s group they could no longer be attributed to their group and were banned.
