Identifying and Overcoming the Fear of Commitment: There was an interesting response to my post on Monday regarding the problem with overcommitment. Many identified with being a overcommitter. The interesting response was the crowd that classified themselves as having a problem with commitment in general. This fear of commitment seemed to span the breadth of relationships, careers, and even hairstyles. Ironically, I used to be overtly cautious and not commit until absolutely necessary.
Whenever I have to explain this to someone they just assume I have commitment issues, they don't understand it's a genuine fear. I can't even bring myself to say the words 'love' out loud, it makes me feel so exposed even though the walls are closing in
Lose the fear, gain your life...you've survived all that's happened to you so far and you will get past anything difficult that happened recently, but commit to yourself this time, you will thrive because you're choosing to move forward without fear of the past...#nofear, #bealive, #thrivenow!
